Plastic cores and industrial plastic components for demanding applications.

PESL manufactures reusable plastic cores, protections, rings, roll wedges, spacers and bespoke plastic components in virgin and recycled plastic compounds.

Components designed around industrial use, not catalogue logic

Each PESL product family is developed around a specific operational need: roll reliability, handling, spacing, product protection, internal logistics or custom manufacturing.

Plastic Cores

Reusable plastic cores for rollstock, packaging, converting and technical films.

Plastic Protections

Plastic edge and product protections for logistics, handling and storage.

Rings

Plastic rings for industrial packaging, protection and spacing applications.

Roll Wedges

Components designed to improve roll safety, stability and handling.

Plastic Spacers

Spacer solutions for industrial handling, separation and protection.

Bespoke PESL

Custom plastic components developed around customer requirements.

Plastic cores where cardboard creates operational risk or hidden cost

PESL plastic cores are especially relevant for heavy, clean, humid, exported, reusable or technically demanding rollstock applications.

Reduce cardboard dust and cellulose fibre concerns.

Improve resistance to humidity and storage conditions.

Support heavy technical rolls where core crush is a risk.

Enable reusable core logic and potential TCO improvement.

Adapt material route to the film, roll weight and application.

Different compounds for different applications

PESL recommends materials according to film type, roll weight, cleanliness requirements, mechanical stress, reuse potential and operating environment. Sensitive applications require technical and documentary validation.

Virgin PVC

Strong route for demanding technical rolls where stability, rigidity and dimensional consistency are important. Validate according to application.

PVCR / Recycled PVC

Cost-performance and circularity route for industrial films, agrofilm, construction, closed loops and non-sensitive applications.

Virgin PP

Polyolefin-based option for BOPP, CPP and clean applications where PP is preferred, subject to validation.

PP + CaCO3

Practical stiffness and cost-balance route for non-critical applications requiring a competitive material option.

Virgin HDPE

PE-based, moisture-resistant material route for PE films, clean applications, geomembranes and drainage-related uses.

Recycled HDPE

Circular material route for non-sensitive industrial, construction and drainage applications, subject to technical validation.

Not every reference needs plastic, but critical references deserve a review

Plastic cores should be assessed where cardboard is already creating operational cost: dust, humidity deformation, core crush, instability, waste, claims or reuse limitations.

Factor Cardboard cores PESL plastic cores Business impact
Initial price
Usually lower.
Usually higher.
Should be reviewed through TCO, not unit price only.
Humidity
Can absorb moisture.
Better humidity resistance depending on material.
More reliable storage and export performance.
Dust / fibres
Cellulose dust can be a concern.
Cleaner alternative to cellulose-based cores.
Relevant for sensitive rolls and controlled environments.
Core crush
Can deform under demanding conditions.
Stronger support route, subject to validation.
Lower risk of roll instability and machine issues.
Reuse
Often single-use.
Potential reuse in internal or customer loops.
Can improve cost per use and circularity.
